How Kids4Evan Started

Rone and Omer Rosen, students of the Moriah School in Englewood, were devastated by Evan’s untimely passing and were committed to doing something positive in his memory.  In conjunction with their fellow classmates and teachers, Rabbi Yoni Fein and Rabbi Eitan Lipstein, Moriah hosted a school-wide event called Kids4Evan on March 25.  The program collected thousands of toys and books for Tackle Kids Cancer and the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Fox 5 News heard about Omer and Rone's story and invited them into the studio, along with Rabbi Fein, to share their initiative on TV in a nine-minute special segment. Omer and Rone relayed their personal story about losing their own mother, and how their relationship with Evan moved them to make a difference in their community. Following this segment, numerous schools and camps joined with Kids4Evan to host their own day of kindness.
